Op een hoogte van 879 meter herinnert het Croix de Fresse eraan dat in 1814 4 Grognards van Napoleon 1 sneuvelden bij de verdediging van deze pas tegen de Kozakken. Vlakbij ligt het Chalet de la Croix de Fresse, dat een adembenemend uitzicht over Bussang biedt. Deze site is gemakkelijk te voet bereikbaar vanaf het skistation Larcenaire, op de hoogten van Bussang, via een balkonpad dat is aangegeven met groene rechthoeken.
