Slagteriet på Paradisgade 19 blev åbnet den 3. juli 1901. Det var ejet af byen og blev drevet i kommunalt regi indtil cirka 1977, hvorefter det blev solgt til en privat entreprenør, der stadig driver det i dag.
Administrationsbygningen er en to-etagers repræsentativ murstensbygning i neorenæssancestil på sokkel af huggen sten. På bygningen er der en hjørnetårnsagtig forebygning med dobbelt skiferbeklædning og ur. Gavlen er en svaneformet gavl med obelisk-udsmykninger.
