Die Kapelle wurde 1952 nach einem Entwurf des Architekten C. Sturm erbaut, aus Dankbarkeit dafür, dass man während der Bombardierungen im Zweiten Weltkrieg verschont blieb. Die aus der abgerissenen Kirche stammende Steinfigur des Schutzheiligen St. Antonius wurde in der Kapelle untergebracht.
