Die Pasterze ist der längste Gletscher Österreichs und der Ostalpen. Sie erstreckt sich vom 3.453 Meter hohen Johannisberg bis auf 2.100 Meter über dem Meeresspiegel und ist rund 8,4 Kilometer lang. Der Gletscher liegt in den Hohen Tauern in Kärnten, direkt unterhalb des Großglockners, Österreichs höchstem Berg. Die Pasterze ist über die Großglockner-Hochalpenstraße und eine Seilbahn erreichbar.
