Der Ringteich von De Luysterborg ist ein wertvoller Wasserbereich mit vielen Wasserpflanzen und Libellen. Hier fühlt sich auch der seltene Kammmolch zuhause. In den älteren Waldflächen von De Luysterborg fallen vor allem die alten, dicken Sommer-Eichen auf. Diese Mischwälder sind schön strukturiert, mit vielen einheimischen Bäumen (vor allem Sommer-Eichen, Birken und Kiefern), einem reichen Unterwuchs (von Sträuchern, Farnen und Brombeeren) und viel Totholz. Ein Paradies für Spechte und Baumläufer!
