Die Schlacht von Lutos fand im Jahr 794 statt. Im Auftrag des Emirs von Córdoba, Hisham I., fielen die Brüder Abd al-Karim ibn Abd al-Walid ibn Mugaith und Abd al-Malik ibn Abd al-Walid ibn Mugaith in das Königreich Asturien ein.
Abd al-Karim führte eine Taktik der verbrannten Erde in Álava aus, während sein Bruder, Abd al-Malik, seine Truppen ins Herz des asturianischen Königreichs dirigierte. Abgesehen von der Stadt Oviedo stieß er auf wenig Widerstand. Er verwüstete einen großen Teil des Gebiets, einschließlich der von Fruela I. von Asturien erbauten Kirchen.
