The Lakerhof is one of the historic farms of Kessenich. First mentioned in 1541 as the property of the van Waes family, it was sold in 1804 to Baron Michiels. Located on the edge of the marshy valley of the Itterbeek, it has already been marked on the Ferraris map (1771-77) as Cse Laekerhoff in the form of a two-part farm, both buildings with their gables perpendicular to the street; it is depicted in the same form in the Atlas of the Neighborhood Roads (1845).
