Withuis is a beautiful core consisting of ribbon development, where the official border crossing between the Netherlands and Belgium used to be. Here you will still find traces of customs offices, a garage, the Caltex gas station from 1953 by the architect Schinkel and catering establishments. Also noteworthy is the large number of monumental buildings, all of which were built in the first half of the 19th century by order of Jan Pieter Nolens. It is still the 'entrance' of Eijsden from Belgium.
