El parque Königsgrube es un parque de crecimiento silvestre en el terreno baldío de la antigua mina Königsgrube. Hoy en día se utiliza como área de recreo y para diversas actividades de ocio, y forma parte de la Ruta de la Cultura Industrial.
En el triángulo urbano formado por Bochum, Wanne-Röhlinghausen y Wattenscheid, se establecieron a mediados del siglo XIX las dos minas vecinas Königsgrube y Hannover. Hannover estuvo en funcionamiento desde 1854 hasta 1973, la mayoría de las instalaciones diarias fueron demolidas, la torre Malokow y otras instalaciones son hoy una sucursal del Museo Industrial LWL. Königsgrube estuvo en funcionamiento desde 1855 hasta 1967 y luego fue completamente demolida. Las primeras planificaciones preveían un vertedero de escombros y más viviendas en el terreno, pero gracias a una iniciativa ciudadana en los años 70, se creó el parque para los barrios cercanos.
