Dopo il Leusder Heide, cammini attraverso un vario paesaggio forestale e di brughiera e passi accanto a diverse fattorie. I prati circostanti sono ex paludi drenate: Langeveen, Waswater e Hazenwater. E il Vogelwater, fino a poco tempo fa De Droogmakerij. Durante il nuovo dragaggio di questa bonifica nel 2017 sono stati trovati resti di una foresta primordiale, risalenti a circa 12.900 anni fa. Alla fine sono stati scavati 160 alberi di pino, alti fino a 18 m e con più di 167 anni. Una delle foreste primordiali più antiche – e ben conservate – dei Paesi Bassi!
