Mariken van Nieumeghen en de duivel Moenen verbleven volgens het verhaal zeven jaar in herberg Inden Guldenen Boom aan de Markt. Die zou hebben gestaan op het huidige nummer 25 van de Grote Markt (het vierde pand vanaf links op de foto). Nu staat daar een reconstructie uit 1965 van een barok pand dat elders in Antwerpen heeft gestaan. Er is een Italiaans restaurant in gevestigd.
