Som en stor øl-entusiast ønskede Bernard Renotte gerne at have sin egen øl. For næsten tre år siden tog han sammen med sin kone Marianne en uddannelse, og de begyndte deres eventyr med hjælp fra Lory, Mariennes søn. Navnene på deres øl henviser til museet Décember 44 i La Gleize og også til historien om deres lille landsby. Efter at de var blevet besejret i Slaget om Ardennerne efterlod tyskerne nemlig deres tankher.
