Natuureducationscentret De Kaaihoeve, i hjertet af Bovenschelde-dalen. Fordi en bæredygtig miljøpolitik ikke kun er en sag for politikere og teknikere, har Provinsen Østflandern indrettet De Kaaihoeve som et mødested for at vække interesse for miljøet hos et bredere publikum. For en succesfuld miljøpolitik er støtten fra befolkningen nemlig nødvendig. I Kaaihoeve er der omfattende miljødokumentation tilgængelig, der er et tilbud til skoler (fra børnehave til sekundært undervisning), og der udvikles og støttes miljøinitiativer. For at hjælpe besøgende med at lære miljøet bedre at kende, er der 'familierugtasker' og materialekasser til rådighed.
