Efter Leusder Heide vandrer du gennem et varieret skov- og hedelandskab og passerer nogle gårde. Markerne omkring er tørlagte moseområder: Langeveen, Waswater og Hazenwater. Og Vogelwater, indtil for nylig De Droogmakerij. Ved genudgravningen af denne tørlægning i 2017 blev rester af en urtskoven fundet, ca. 12.900 år gammel. I alt blev 160 fyrretræer gravet op, op til 18 m høje og mere end 167 år gamle. En af de ældste - og godt bevarede - urkøer i Holland!
