Das Théâtre de Verdure bildet zusammen mit dem Stade des Jeux das Zentrum der Bebauung der seit 1891 entmilitarisierten Zitadelle. Die monumentale Spielinfrastruktur wurde 1908 errichtet.
Das Freilichttheater aus bemaltem Beton im Art-Déco-Stil wurde von der Wiener Secession beeinflusst. Es besteht aus einer erhöhten Bühne, die über zwei Treppen erreichbar ist, die von zwei Säulenpaaren eingerahmt wird und unter einem Giebel mit den Allegorien der Tragödie und der Komödie geschmückt ist .
Das Stade des Jeux ist ein großes Stadion für Sport- und Freizeitveranstaltungen, das von einer sanft geschwungenen Promenade mit geometrischem Art-Déco-Dekor dominiert wird, das stark von der Wiener Secession beeinflusst ist. Die Königsloge mit der Aufschrift „Ludus pro Patria“ auf dem Giebel ist das Zentrum der Komposition.
