Das weitläufige Schloss Ringsheim liegt heute abseits jeder dörflichen Siedlung: Von dem im 17. Jahrhundert untergegangenen Dorf Ringsheim ist nur noch die Kirchenruine im Schlosspark übrig.
Im Mittelalter war die Burg dreiteilig. Das Herrenhaus stand auf einer hohen ummauerten Insel - davor lagen zwei Vorburgen. Die ungewöhnliche Größe sprach für Macht und Reichtum ihrer Besitzer.
Im 17. Jahrhundert wurde das seinerzeit ruinöse Anwesen zum barocken Schloß umgebaut. Im späten 19. Jahrhundert entstand daraus ein Landsitz nach englischem Vorbild.
