This fertile plain in the south of the district of Ternat gained fame during World War II as a German radar base, codenamed "Blindschleiche" (slowworm), where the 27th Flight Reporting Control Company of the IV Battalion of the 211 Air Surveillance Regiment of the Luftwaffe entrenched itself for 4 years, and where at this moment only a rectangular bunker remains as the last testimony of it.
