Deze route begint in het centrum van Fontaine-l’Evêque, en loopt langs een hoofdweg. De terril du pétria is geklasseerd als Natura 2000-gebied en strekt zich uit over meerdere hectaren. U vindt er een uitzonderlijke biodiversiteit. Een echte groene schat met verschillende ecologische niches, zoals vijvers, plassen, droge weiden, enz. De voedselketen is compleet, van de microscopisch kleine schepseltjes van droge of vochtige milieus zoals libellen en kikkers, tot de superroofdieren die overdag of ‘s nachts actief zijn, zoals de buizerd, de torenvalk en de boomvalk, de uil, enz. Op de top kunt u genieten van een prachtig uitzicht op een aaneenschakeling van terrils.
