Uitkerkse Polder er det vigtigste engeområde for græshoppere i Flandern.
Det er derfor et attraktivt sted for naturfotografer og fugleobservatører. I Uitkerkse Polder har Naturpunt også fotohytter specielt for fotografer. Der er også denne udsigtstårn.
I vinteren slår tusindvis af gæs sig ned her, mens foråret udgør scenen for hundredvis af balancerende græshoppere.
