L'actual far de Blankenberge, sobrenomenat Comte Jean Jetty, va ser construït entre 1950 i 1954 a la ciutat portuària belga.
Fins l'any 2009, a l'edifici sota la torre hi havia un museu marítim .
Ja hi ha esment d' un far a Blankenberge de 1337 . L'anterior far va ser construït entre 1870 i 1872 i dinamitat pels ocupants alemanys l'any 1944. Abans d'això, un far s'aixecava al fort Napoleó, ara enderrocat, de 1817 a 1873.
