You can clearly see that Milos is a volcanic island at the beach of Filiplaka. Here you can still see a part of the impressive and well-preserved crater, with a diameter of 1.700 metres and height of 220 metres. Activity ceased 90,000 years ago.The other extinct volcano you can see is near Trachylas.
