La basilique paroissiale Santa Maria del Popolo est une église titulaire et une basilique mineure de Rome gérée par l'ordre des Augustins. Elle est située sur le côté nord de la Piazza del Popolo, l'une des places les plus célèbres de la ville. L'église est entourée par la colline du Pincio et la Porta del Popolo, l'une des portes du mur d'Aurélien qui est aussi le point de départ de la Via Flaminia, la route la plus importante du nord. Son emplacement a fait de la basilique la première église visitée pour la majorité des voyageurs entrant dans la ville. Elle contient des œuvres de plusieurs artistes célèbres, tels que Raphael, Le Bernin, Le Caravage, Alessandro Algardi, Pinturicchio, Andrea Bregno, Guillaume de Marcillat et Donato Bramante.
