Oorspronkelijk was dit kasteel een versterkte hoeve, afhankelijk van de heerlijkheid van Male. Een nieuw kasteel in neo-gotische stijl werd opgetrokken in 1913-1929 op korte afstand van de nog bestaande hoeve. In 1956 werd er het Centrum voor Europese en Internationale vorming opgericht. In de nabije toekomst opent er een restaurant/tearoom in het kasteel. Je kan ook het kasteeldomein met heemtuin en educatief pad gratis komen bezoeken. Het zeer rustig gelegen domein is omringd door mooie dreven en uitgestrekte bossen waar je in volle rust kan fietsen of wandelen.
