Stadler Rail AG is een Zwitserse fabrikant van rollend materieel met wereldwijd circa 6100 werknemers . De hoofdvestiging is in Bussnang in het kanton Thurgau. De omzet was in 2012 ca. CHF 2,2 miljard. Het bedrijf heeft in Nederland onderhoudshallen in Blerick en Leeuwarden.
In 1942 werd door Ernst Stadler een ingenieursbureau in Zürich opgericht. Drie jaar later werd begonnen met de productie van accu- en diesellocomotieven voor de rangeerdienst. Na de bouw van de eerste montagehal in Bussnang/TG in 1962 werd Stadler Rail AG in 1976 opgericht. Sinds 1984 worden hier railvoertuigen geproduceerd. Na de dood van Ernst Stadler in 1989 kocht werknemer Peter Spuhler het bedrijf. Onder deze nieuwe directeur-eigenaar heeft Stadler een grote groei doorgemaakt, van 18 naar 1000 man personeel. Spuhler is ook politicus: sinds 1999 is hij lid van de Nationale Raad voor de Zwitserse Volkspartij . In november 2015 werd Vossloh Rail Vehicles overgenomen door Stadler Rail en gaat verder als Stadler Rail Valencia.
