Kongsberg és un municipi situat al comtat de Buskerud, Noruega. Té 27.013 habitants i té una superfície de 793 km². El centre administratiu del municipi és el poble homònim.
La ciutat fou fundada el 1624 amb el nom Konings Bierg pel rei danès-noruec Cristià IV, com a comunitat minera. El poble es va establir com a municipi de l'1 de gener de 1838. Els municipis rurals d'Ytre Sandsvær i Øvre Sandsvær es van fusionar amb el municipi de Kongsberg el 1964.
