L'Ermita de la Mare de Déu del Socors està situada sota un massís rocós amb vistes al riu Ave i presenta una peculiar arquitectura, amb planta quadrada coberta per volta.
L'interior està decorat amb belles rajoles del segle XVIII que representen la vida de Crist i un retaule rococó.
Va ser construït entre 1599 i 1603 per Gaspar Manuel, possiblement en compliment d'un vot a Nostra Senyora del Socors, cavaller jurat de l'Ordre de Crist i capità a les rutes de l'Índia, la Xina i el Japó, i la seva esposa Bàrbara Ferreira d'Almeida, els qui estan enterrats aquí.
Des de la plataforma que envolta el temple es pot gaudir d´una vista incomparable sobre Vila do Conde.
