La chapelle de Notre-Dame du Secours est située sous un massif rocheux surplombant la rivière Ave et présente une architecture particulière, avec un plan carré couvert par une voûte.
L'intérieur est décoré de belles tuiles du XVIIIe siècle représentant la vie du Christ et d'un retable rococo.
Elle a été construite entre 1599 et 1603 par Gaspar Manuel, probablement en accomplissement d'un vœu fait à Notre-Dame du Secours, chevalier juré de l'Ordre du Christ et capitaine sur les routes de l'Inde, de la Chine et du Japon, et à son épouse Bárbara Ferreira de Almeida, qui sont enterrés ici.
