't Sluse ligger ved den strømfølgende sandaflejring af den Gamle Schelde. Den gamle sluse styrer dræningen af den Gamle Schelde og forhindrer, at saltholdigt Scheldevand trænger ind. Slusen blev bygget i 1592 og er dermed det ældste vandbygningsmonument i Flandern.
