På top af bakken befinder du dig 53 m over havets overflade, lige så højt som ved Tiegemkirke. Sammen med bakken i Tiegem-landsbyen er det to fremspringende bakketoppe fra hovedkam med Tiegemberg, Anzegem-landsbyen og Gijzelbrechtegem. Ikke for ingenting havde romerne allerede et Castrum eller lejr her. Navnet på kommunen er for resten afledt derfra. Udsigten er overvældende: den fulde Schelde-dal fra Avelgem til Oudenaarde. Eneste ulempe er de dammende køletårne fra elektricitetværket i Ruien. Den klassicistiske Sankt Peters Kirke i Kaster blev færdiggjort i 1819.
