Det Provincielle Arkæologiske Museum i Sydøstflandern i Velzeke viser på en didaktisk måde livet i Sydøstflandern fra forhistorien til den merovingiske periode. I den gallo-romerske periode blev der gjort omfattende brug af Balegem sandsten til blandt andet brønde, den opadgående murværk af boliger og søjlerne samt kapitælet fra templet. En moderne anvendelse af Balegem sandsten ser vi i den romerske have, i form af fliser og bænke. Også skiltet ved indgangen er en stor Balegem sandsten.
