Statuen ''De witloofboer' af Luc Mathijs står på Kirkens Plads i Kampenhout ved indgangen til Plejehjemmet Molenstee. Digtforfatter Marcel Pira skrev digtet:
Witloofboeren
Rodet i sin bys bibel
med hænder der bestemmer sin egen skæbne
og ord der knap nok oversætter ham
- alt hvad han opnår ligger på et kast
fra ham - således dækker året ham
med hårdt arbejde, aldrig livstrætte:
først spiringen af frøet i det spæde
forårstøj,
så bekymringen om planten i de varme
sommertimer
ved våde efterår sommetider i lav en
gigtbid med ved sin vinterleje
de brummende bål...
Men når det hvide guld stiger op under hans
øjne
bliver jorden pludselig hans orgel der
prisgiver hans arbejde.
