Der er allerede lavet og mislykkedes flere planer om at videreudvikle det historiske sted Le Grognon. Der skulle her, delvist nedsænket i vandet, komme et nyt valonsk parlamentsbyggeri. Efter en konkurrence blev designet af den italienske stjernearkitekt Mario Botta kåret som vinderen. Men et bevarelsesorienteret flertal kunne ikke lide den murstensskib, eller 'le Batteau de Botta', og stemte imod det.
