Several plans have been devised and failed for the further development of the historical site Le Grognon. A new Walloon Parliament building was to be built here, partly situated in the water. After a competition, the design by Italian star architect Mario Botta was declared the winner. However, a conservative majority did not approve of the brick ship, or 'le Batteau de Botta,' and voted it down.
