Slagterhuset i Anderlecht eller Kuregem i Bruxelles er stadig i brug og illustrerer fremragende den industrielle arkitektur fra det nittende århundrede.
I 1887 blev det besluttet at erstatte det kommunale slagtehus med en ny bygning. Det gamle var årsag til alvorlige problemer med transport af kvæg og på hygiejneområdet som følge af forældede installationer og udledning af affald i Zenne, hvilket gjorde det umuligt at hente rent vand til andre aktiviteter fra floden. Der blev valgt en lokation i Kuregem, hvor der stadig findes betydelige vådområder. Stedet ligger gunstigt ved Bruxelles-Charleroi-kanalen, tæt på en jernbanelinje.
