Naturreservatet "Burreken" ligger på grænsen mellem Brakel, Maarkedal og Horebeke. Det er en unik kombination af skove, dale, bakker, fauna og flora. Desuden hersker der en bemærkelsesværdig stilhed.
Burreken bliver forvaltet af Natuurpunt, som regelmæssigt arrangerer guidede vandreture der.
Derudover løber der to markerede vandreruter gennem området: Eikelmusruten (7,5 km) og Vandsalamanderouten (7 km).
