Hortiflora udgør en markant zone med sin egen atmosfære inden for slotshaverne. Udsiden er en temmelig tæt grøn bælte, der afskærmer den åbne plads fra omgivelserne. Dette bælte omfatter en stor variation af bemærkelsesværdige træer. Oprindeligt var Hortiflora indrettet som en demonstrationshave med forskellige typer af haveatmosfærer (stenhave, køkkenhave,...). I 1977, i anledning af Rubensåret, blev haven omdannet i historisk renæssancestil. Haven har siden da fået en stadig mere pædagogisk rolle. Der findes nu mere end 600 arter og varianter af planter. I 2012 blev Hortiflora tilføjet til skulpturparken.
