Die Hortiflora bildet eine auffällige Zone mit eigener Atmosphäre innerhalb der Schlossparks. Die Außenseite ist ein recht dichter grüner Gürtel, der den offenen Raum von der Umgebung abschirmt. Dieser Gürtel umfasst eine große Vielfalt an bemerkenswerten Bäumen. Ursprünglich wurde die Hortiflora als Demonstrationsgarten mit verschiedenen Arten von Gartenatmosphären (Steingarten, Küchengarten, ...) angelegt. Im Jahr 1977, anlässlich des Rubensjahres, wurde der Garten im historischen Renaissancestil neu gestaltet. Seitdem hat der Garten zunehmend eine Bildungsrolle eingenommen. Inzwischen sind mehr als 600 Arten und Sorten von Pflanzen zu finden. Im Jahr 2012 wurde die Hortiflora dem Skulpturenpark hinzugefügt.
