Ved bredden af Schelde, på grænsen mellem Vestflandern, Østflandern og Hainaut, ligger de Vestflamske Scheldemarker: blomstrende græsmarker, rørfelter og skovkanter langs afskårne Scheldebukter.
Markerne er opstået ved, at man har ligeudrettet Schelde. Den mest kendte og måske også den smukkeste afskårne Scheldearm er coupure Marcel Deweer, men alle har de en meget stor naturværdi og en rig fauna og flora. I nogle marker kan man gå på stierne, mens andre kun kan ses fra jagstien.
