Fort 1 er det eneste Brialmontfort, der er helt forsvundet. Det blev sprængt i 1959 for at rette Turnhoutsevej. I 1993 blev Wijnegem Shopping Center opført på den sydlige del af fæstningsområdet. Den nordlige del fik en ny bestemmelse som skovområde.
