I Gerhagen-Tessenderlo står et panoramatårn på ‘sandbjerget’, en gammel landdune. Det blev kaldt ‘turisttårnet ved sandbjerget’. Det gav en panoramisk udsigt over det grønne hav i Gerhagen og afviser fordommen om, at Tessenderlo kun er ‘gråt af industrien’. I 1999 blev det nedrevet på grund af betonrød. Derefter blev et nyt metaleksemplar rejst, som er højere end det forrige: 18,75 meter og 100 trin. VVV-Tessenderlo betalte for dette andet tårn og gav derefter bygningen gratis til kommunalbestyrelsen i Tessenderlo, som nu er ejer.
