Den 11. januar begynder de første tropper fra 4th Cavalry Group at komme ned fra Hez de Harzé til La Roche, som de finder forladt af tyskerne. Samtidig ser de Highlanders ankomme fra den anden side af Ourthe.
La Roche bliver befriet, men kampen fortsætter... Highlanders vil stadig befri Hives, Hubermont, Mierchamps, Erneuville og Ortho.
Opgaven var at nå Houffalize og finde forbindelse til Pattons 3. armé.
