CSEM er et forsknings- og udviklingscenter, der er specialiseret i mikroelektronik, nanoteknologi, mikroelektronik, systemingeniørkunst, photovoltaik og informationsteknologi samt kommunikation. Hovedkontoret for organisationen ligger i Neuchâtel i Schweiz.
Historien om CSEM begynder i begyndelsen af 1980'erne, da den føderale regering er bekymret over den schweiziske industris tilbagegang i forhold til nabolandene inden for nye teknologier. For at vende udviklingen beslutter de at lancere oprettelsen af et privat forsknings- og udviklingscenter. Neuchâtel synes at være det rette sted at etablere dette nye center.
