Borgen Hardenstein er en ruin ved den midterste Ruhr mellem bydelen Herbede og den centrale by Witten i den nuværende Ennepe-Ruhr-Kreis i Nordrhein-Westfalen, Tyskland. Den er omgivet af det samme naturschutzområde Hardenstein og ligger nær Muttentals. Indtil færdiggørelsen af Ruhrtalbahn i det nittende århundrede lå borgen direkte ved floden. Typologisk er den længe kendte befæstede anordning et "fast hus" - altså et herresæde. Den tjente hovedsageligt som bolig for dens herrelige ejere og var derfor kun begrænset forsvarlig.
