Lysthaven er den ældste haveanlæg i Potsdam. Den afgrænses mod nord af Breiten Straße med Marstall, mod øst af Havel, mod syd af jernbanedæmningen og mod vest af indenrigsministeriet. Som barokhave skabt under den Store Kurfyrste Friedrich Wilhelm for byslottet, blev det under Kong Friedrich Wilhelm I. halvdelen omdannet til en plan øvelsesplads, mens resten blev forskønnet af Friedrich II. og omdannet i 1829 af Peter Joseph Lenné. Efter Anden Verdenskrig begyndte fjernelsen af byslottet med opførelsen af Ernst-Thälmann-Stadion i Lysthaven. Ved byggeriet af Interhotels Potsdam forsvandt Lysthaven i 1969 til ukendelighed. I anledning af Bundesgartenschau 2001 blev der anlagt en ny Lysthave efter nedrivningen af Thälmann-Stadion.

Nedrivningen af hotellet Mercure forbliver som et renoveringsmål for Lysthaven siden en beslutning fra 2016.
