Den fortsatte bygning af jernbanelinjen Köln-Mülheim–Lindlar på delstrækningen Immekeppel–Lindlar lod længe vente på sig. I januar 1912 blev først strækningen Immekeppel–Hommerich færdig. Til sidst åbnede man i december 1912 strækningen fra Hommerich til Lindlar. Slutningen kom i 1960 for persontog. Godstrafikken standsede i 1966. I samme år blev skinnerne på strækningen demonteret. Kun i området ved stationen Linde findes der stadig væk skifter og skinner, som dog først blev lagt i 1970'erne. Dengang var der planer om en museumsbane til Lindlar, men disse strandede på modstanden fra beboerne og politikerne.
