La continuazione della linea ferroviaria Colonia-Mülheim–Lindlar nel tratto Immekeppel–Lindlar ha tardato a realizzarsi. Nel gennaio del 1912 fu completato inizialmente il tratto Immekeppel–Hommerich. Infine, nel dicembre del 1912 fu inaugurato il tratto da Hommerich a Lindlar. La fine arrivò nel 1960 per i treni passeggeri. Il traffico merci si fermò nel 1966. Nello stesso anno i binari nel tratto furono smantellati. Solo nell'area della stazione di Linde ci sono ancora scambi e binari, che però furono posati solo negli anni '70. All'epoca c'erano piani per una ferrovia museale verso Lindlar, che però fallirono per la resistenza dei residenti e della politica.
