La continuación de la construcción de la línea ferroviaria Colonia-Mülheim-Lindlar en el tramo Immekeppel-Lindlar tardó mucho en llegar. En enero de 1912, se completó inicialmente el tramo Immekeppel-Hommerich. Por último, en diciembre de 1912 se inauguró el tramo de Hommerich a Lindlar. El final llegó en 1960 para los trenes de pasajeros. El tráfico de mercancías se detuvo en 1966. En el mismo año, las vías del tramo fueron desmanteladas. Solo en el área de la estación Linde todavía hay desvíos y rieles, que sin embargo se colocaron recién en los años 70. En ese momento, hubo planes para un ferrocarril museo hacia Lindlar, que fracasaron debido a la oposición de los residentes y de la política.
