Aremberg kan ofte ses fra kilometer væk, og dens form tyder på, at det i tidligere tider har været en vulkan. På toppen (623 meter over havets overflade) står en borgruin. Aremberg kan bestiges til den navngivne landsby på omkring 530 meters højde. Der er tre opstigninger, hvoraf den fra Antweiler i Ahrdal er den sværeste variant.
