Gangmidlerne i gruben tilhører en kobbermalmgang-linje, som strakte sig fra ovenfor Langenaubach over Donsbach og Nanzenbach til Hirzenhain. Gruberne på dette gangtræk var:
Gruben Alte Hoffnung byggede på to malm gange. På den sene, som strøg i den syvende time og faldt nordligt, Altenhoffnungsgang og den kvartsagtige og op til 3″ kraftige Lembachsgang, som strøg i 11. time og faldt mod øst.
På den første gang skulle der i 1867 være kørt 110 Lachter og på den sidste ca. 90 Lachter. Lembachsgang var kendt over en længde af 300 Lachter og var på den øverste sokkel blevet kørt til 50 Lachter.
