Universitetsbiblioteket i Kassel – statsbiblioteket og Murhards bibliotek i byen Kassel er et enlagssystem med seks bibliotekssteder og forsyninger medlemmerne af universitetet i Kassel og befolkningen i Nordhessen med litteratur og information.
Udover opgaverne for et universitetsbibliotek opfylder det også opgaven som statsbibliotek samt en videnskabelig borgerbibliotek for regionen.
Bibliotekstraditionen for det i 1973 grundlagte universitetsbibliotek strækker sig tilbage til 1580. Dengang grundlagde landgrev Wilhelm IV., kaldet den kloge, et bibliotek for sine videnskabelige interesser. Biblioteket tjente fra begyndelsen mindre repræsentative formål end mere de brede forsknings- og uddannelsesinteresser hos landsfyrsten.
